‘Tailing out’
July 17, 2013 Haveriggs Farm
In June I listed 'tailing out' as one of the next big jobs to be done on the farm, well for those of you who were wondering what on earth that meant here we have Ed and Dan on the job!
As you can see it is a very refined beauty parlour! The ewes are delicately turned over in the specially designed crate so that Ed can clip off the dirty, long fleece so that blow flies are less likely to lay their eggs there. Dan is trimming the ewe's feet as they can become overgrown and painful and can lead to infection and fly strike.
They are now ready for clipping in a week or so!
