March 19, 2020 Shaw End
As the impact of the COVID-19 continues to gather momentum, we are conscious that we need to highlight our approach to anyone booked or planning on visiting us in the coming months.
Shaw End is open and welcoming guests. We intend to stay that way for as long as we are able. Fortunately our accommodation is well placed so that guests can easily avoid others and we have 200 acres to roam on the estate and have the fells on our doorstep.
We have been quietly taking a proactive approach to the current situation for the past few weeks. Its a difficult and over whelming time for us all. Here are a few of the things we have put into action-
- All properties are receiving a higher level of anti bacterial cleaning upon each changeover.
- anti bacterial cleaner in all apartments and hand sanitiser mounted on the front door.- Our staff are following guidelines on social distancing in and out of work and will not be at work if they show any symptoms of the virus.
- We have introduced a no contact check in / check out procedure.
Conscious that we need to support each other, and knowing there are some vulnerable people who do not want to travel, we have temporarily relaxed our cancellation policies for all bookings arriving before 30th May, allowing guests to rebook at a later date without losing any payments. Should you have an existing booking or are planning to make one then we are here and ready to answer your calls / emails. We would like to try to keep our business going and support our staff and their families.
These are exceptional and uncertain times, but we are trying to find the positive in this for now. With so many overseas destinations inaccessible, guests may chose to book short breaks and holidays in the UK. We are monitoring the situation and government guidelines daily and hope that we can welcome anyone wanting to stay and join us in enjoying the Cumbrian fresh air at this time. As well as the endless fells to explore there are other ways to entertain on offer whilst socially distancing yourselves.
Stay safe and we very much look forward to welcoming you again if not soon then in the future.
