Holiday Apartments, Kendal, The Lake District

The house is situated four miles north east of the market town of Kendal on the edge of the Lake District National Park, Cumbria.  The south facing aspect provides superb open views across farm and woodland to the Cumbrian hills.

There is fishing on our own river & tarn, horse riding within a mile, and miles of open fell & countryside to explore and enjoy.

The Lake District itself has hundreds of events, attractions and activities to tempt you, as well as providing some of the best scenery that the UK has to offer. The central, northern and eastern Lakes are accessible from Shaw End by car, as are the gently rolling summits of the Howgills and Yorkshire Dales further to the east.

  • Self-catered accommodation
  • Four apartments set in a lovingly-restored period manor house
  • Stunning scenery on the edge of Cumbria's Lake District National Park
  • The estate with its Mansion and traditional Lakeland farm buildings also provide varied film locations

This winter

This winter the Lake District fells are a muted canvas of reds, golds, yellow and pale green with snow covered fell tops.  On the home farm we have almost sold all of last season's lambs and are now only a few weeks away from 2025 lambing!

For those wanting to enjoy a peaceful escape, Shaw End is perfect for daily walks right from the door, either through woodland, along the river bank, or climbing up onto Whinfell and down to the remote Borrowdale.  Come back and take in the beautiful views through the Georgian windows, from the comfort of your apartment and settle with a book by the wood burning stoves.
